Emmerdale’s Charity Dingle gets desperate this week as part of her ongoing blackmail storyline involving Dr Caitlin Todd.

Viewers know that Dr Todd recently uncovered the truth about the parentage of Charity’s baby after discovering that the surrogate child Charity gave birth to for Sarah and Jacob was actually Charity’s biological child with Ross.

Since then, Dr Todd has been blackmailing Charity, demanding £10,000 for her silence, though the villain has been dropping ominous hints around Jacob, threatening to expose the truth.

In this week’s scenes, Charity cooks up a hare-brained scheme with Chas to come up with the money by robbing Home Farm when Kim pulls out of the Woolpack deal that Charity was banking on.

After Charity confides in Chas about her situation, she comes up with a plan to steal Kim’s money.

Emmerdale’s latest spoiler clip for Wednesday’s episode, which can be viewed below, shows a drunk Charity and Chas attempting to get into Kim’s safe.

Charity is desperate to lay her hands on Kim’s money, so she and Chas have broken into Home Farm to try to reach the safe.

As the drunk pair try to locate the money, they are disturbed when Lydia walks in, and the pair try to hide behind the sofa.

When Graham comes downstairs, Lydia distracts him and then confronts Charity and Chas, saying: “What on earth?!”

“Charity is taking a huge risk and one that’s likely to blow up in her face either way,” our insider said. “Dr Todd is relishing the power she wields over Charity and her family, and it would be even sweeter if she could destroy Jacob’s life in the process.

“In fact, when Charity gives her some money as a down payment, she gives her a new deadline and promises that if Charity can’t meet it, she’s going public with the secret of Leyla’s parentage.”
