Dr Todd’s sudden Emmerdale exit has fans asking the exact same shocking question!

Dr. Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) has departed Emmerdale village, and it seems without facing consequences for her wicked schemes.

For months, the deranged surgeon has orchestrated a vicious campaign against trainee Jacob Sugden (Joe-Warren Plant) before extorting Charity over her surrogacy secret.

As devotees of the ITV soap will recall, Charity agreed to serve as a surrogate for her granddaughter, Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), and Jacob, but she ended up conceiving Ross Barton’s (Michael Parr) child instead.

Charity subsequently delivered the baby, Leyla, to Sarah and her husband, Jacob, who believed they were the infant’s biological parents. Todd discovered the truth and attempted to extort Charity, reports the Express.

Having pleaded, borrowed, and pilfered money from her friends and family, including pinching £30,000 worth of goods from Caleb Miligan’s (William Ash) depot, Charity realised that she wouldn’t be able to secure the remaining cash. Dr. Todd then sexually assaulted Charity.

On Wednesday (June 10), Todd was arrested under caution, but during her police interview, she lied and said she engaged in consensual sex with Charity and that the allegations were false.

DS Reid (Angela Lonsdale) was compelled to allow Todd to leave the police station until further forensic tests came back.

The detective later informed Charity that her physical examination was inconclusive and that Todd couldn’t be charged at this time. Charity was left devastated.

Outside, Todd was bidding farewell to Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) and Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker). As she set off towards Sheffield, she gave Charity a wave from the car window.

Emmerdale fans were left seething as Todd departed the village, seemingly escaping punishment for her wrongdoings. Will she return to face the music?

Taking to X, one viewer vented: “What? That’s it? Todd gets away with everything she’s done #Emmerdale.”

Another exclaimed: “Dr. Todd is absolutely evil personified, vile to the core!!! She needs locking up! This can not be the end of it with her, surely! #Emmerdale She can not get away with this!”

A third pleaded: “I really hope they don’t let Dr. Todd get away with sexually assaulting Charity #Emmerdale.”
