Heartbroken Emmerdale viewers are convinced they’ve figured out how Vinny Dingle will exit the soap – and it’s devastating news. Vinny (Bradley Johnson) has been a mainstay on our screens for years. As Mandy Dingle’s (Lisa Riley) adopted son, Vinny has emerged as a fan favourite and cherished character on the programme.

He’s also been central to numerous major plotlines throughout the years – from his turbulent bond with biological father Paul Ashdale (Reece Dinsdale) to the tragic passing of his spouse Liv (Isobel Steele).
More recently, following his struggle with his sexuality, Vinny began a relationship with his first boyfriend Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches). The couple have flourished ever since.
Yet earlier this year, reports emerged that Vinny is poised to depart the soap following seven years. An Emmerdale insider revealed: “Bradley is a very popular member of the cast and especially close with his on-screen Dingle family.
“Everyone is shocked that bosses decided to axe him but it’s all part of the ITV cuts and they still need to trim back the cast.”, reports the Express.

Fans have now ‘sussed out’ his departure storyline in a tragic death twist. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan group, responding to Vinny’s ‘axe’, one viewer pondered: “Who else thinks they’ll kill him off?” Another replied: “Most likely.”
A third contributed: “I’d like him and Lewis to have a happy ending but we know that won’t happen.” Someone else commented: “Yes, probably another character to be murdered or something.”

Should Vinny depart the village, he would join a number of characters facing soap departures. Back in March, reports emerged that Olivia Bromley, who portrays Dawn Taylor, had been given the chop.

Then in May, speculation arose that village stalwart Jimmy King actor Nick Miles had also been shown the door from the ITV soap after more than 20 years and will allegedly meet his demise.

An insider told The Sun: “Bosses are under pressure to cut costs and sadly that means popular cast members being told their time is up. They also claimed: “Once the decision was made that Nick would be leaving, the writers quickly realised his character wouldn’t abandon his wife and children so they had to kill him off. ” Reach contacted ITV at the time for comment.
Emmerdale airs Monday to Friday at 8:00pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
